War Paint Concealer Review
One of the new kids on the makeup for men block is War Paint's Concealer. Despite only being released last year, there’s a growing clan of men that are very keen to incorporate this product into their daily grooming regimes. If you’re man enough to moisturise and generally take good care of your skin, exploring cosmetics such as this men’s concealer is your natural progression in the hunt for a fresh and flawless complexion.
For those new to the game, a concealer is simply a correcting coloured pigment that can be applied to your skin to help disguise a wide variety of skin problems and imperfections. If you’re struggling with a particular skin complaint, a concealer for men like War Paint’s should be your first port of call, as it has fantastic confidence boosting camouflage power.
Over the past two weeks, I’ve been taking War Paint's Concealer for regular spins in the bathroom and beyond and have answered what I believe will be the nine most common questions on the lips of guys interested in the product below. With one in three men now regularly using concealer, is it now your turn to buy into the hype and accept a little help in hand from the cosmetic gods?
What Shades Does It Come In?
War Paint’s Concealer currently comes in a choice of 3 shades, which I believe is the bare minimum needed in order to appeal to the mass market. Its current colour options are Fair, Light and Tan. I believe that a couple of darker colours are still needed to help this product become a truly complete concealer.
What Does It Cover Up?
If you have small blemishes that are visible on the skin, this men’s concealer is perfect. It will also disguise dark circles, eye bags and fine lines that often appear from around the outside of the eyes as you get older. It is generally a good all-rounder and will also help camouflage age spots, enlarged pores, sun spots and acne scaring.
What Can This Concealer Be Used With?
If you already have your favourite products that you want to stick to and you simply wish to incorporate this concealer into your routine - that’s not a problem. It will work well with foundation, BB cream, bronzer and anti-shine powder.
How Long Does It Last?
I’ve had a few long days in the city over the past fortnight and have sometimes applied it as early as 5:30 in the morning, before heading to the train station. Most days, it stayed in place all day long without the need for touch-ups. However, to be absolutely sure of its longevity, you may wish to invest in a good quality finishing powder.
Will It Rub Off Onto My Clothes?
I had a couple of shaving nicks on my neck last week and applied a dab of concealer to them, whilst their redness went down. There was absolutely no transferability onto my clothes or shirt collars.
Is It Undetectable?
For the most part - yes. As it does come in a small number of shades, I can’t promise that it will look completely undetectable for every guy, but for me, it looked really natural.
How Does It Compare To Others?
For me, this men’s concealer is up there with the likes of Recipe For Men’s Concealer and Calvin Klein’s Mousse Concealer. It also bares a resemblance to MMUK MAN’s Concealer Pot, although at present that is available in more colours. The ingredients are very good quality and the vegan aspect of War Paint’s Concealer is also appealing.
How Much Does It Cost?
For one pot of this men’s concealer, you’re going to be paying around £18.00 and it should last for around three months, if you’re using it regularly. Concealers of similar quality are priced in and around that same price bracket, so its value is fairly industry standard.
