MMUK MAN Concealer Pen Review
This week, I've been challenged with the task of reviewing MMUK MAN's brand new Touch Up Veil MMUK MAN's Concealer Pen. Concealer Pen's aren't something new to the men's makeup scene, with Yves Saint Laurent releasing their Touche Eclat For Men back in 2008.
Having tried that, as well as a couple more recent versions from Calvin klein and MYEGO's earlier this year, I'd like to think I know a few things about this form of men's cosmetic product. But, how could MMUK MAN's fare in comparison? Would it be another hit from this British brand, or have they let their standards slip with their latest arrival?
Arriving in a black matte box, i was very impressed with the packaging of MMUK MAN's Touch Up Veil. The pen itself is very sleek and doesn't feel feminine at all, something I find particularly important when even broaching the subject of men and makeup. With good quality and soft bristles, just a few clicks and just the right amount of product is dispensed onto the applicator. I particularly like that the click button allows you to manage just how much concealer you apply, helping keep wastage to an absolute minimum.
Now, for its performance. I'm a busy man, like most and yes, from time to time, I suffer with dark circles and generally fatigued looking eyes. What I found most pleasing about this vitamin enriched formula is that it works great at brightening my under eye areas, without making them look heavy with makeup wear, as if I were a women. Quite the opposite in fact, it looks really natural and it didn't feel like I was wearing concealer at all.
It is also worth mentioning that with a little brush over my outer eye areas, my fine lines (crow’s feet) were instantly covered up too. For men like me, into their thirties, I can imagine this being an absolute must have! It's versatility and complete ease in application mean you don't have to spend ages in front of the mirror. Just a little touch up goes a long way and with this products clearly masculine design, it certainly wouldn't look out of place on your bathroom shelf.
If I were to rank this with others I had used in the past, I'd say it was most comparable to Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat. A well designed and high performance men's concealer pen that does just the trick. Call upon it when in most need and achieve brighter looking eyes and a more youthful look and feel in this area. It's also great at disguising the odd blemish that I have on my nose and a couple of acne scars I've had since my teen’s. My overall score: 9 out of 10.
