How To Cover Up Thread Veins
Hiya apologies in advance for the dodgy looking photos lol. I found your website on google and I have read your article on “James” and I wondered about giving this a go.
I have been spending a lot of money of thread vein removal treatments and although it has worked on some I still have some left and it’s not a completely pleasant experience so I wondered instead about makeup because I’m told they can always return anyway even after spending hundreds of pounds on this...
Anyway i have not got a clue what I am doing regarding makeup or cover up stuff. I’m 44 years old and I am unsure what to get nor do I have any idea what shade I should get. I have tried using my girlfriends stuff sometimes but it often looks powdery and a little clumpy or noticeable so I just end up washing it off... Anyway all advice would be greatly apprecIated the lady who did the vein treatment did say I have some rosacea...
Please advise, Many thanks, Liam
Good afternoon Liam, I hope you're well and thank you so much for getting in touch. We actually have quite a lot of gentlemen get in touch with us, who are in a similar boat as yourself. Even when you have thread vein removal, like you say, there's a good chance that they can't be removed completely, or worse still come back months or even years later.
As you've mentioned that you also suffer with Rosacea, there's a few different products that are automatically springing to my mind. The first one of those is our Anti-Redness Moisturiser, which has proven incredibly popular with guys suffering with uneven or red facial tones since we launched the product over a year ago. The next set of products that spring to mind is our line of mineral men's makeup. In a nutshell, mineral makeup products harbour better skin care qualities than regular cosmetic products and despite being a little more expensive, if you tend to suffer with sensitive and easily inflamed skin - they're an absolute must.
I know what you mean about wearing female makeup. Often this is a lot heavier than men's products and as a result, when they're worn on men - they can look a lot heavier and even cakey. As a gent in your 40's, there's nothing worse than wearing a whole face of makeup and worrying if people are going to notice it when you step foot out the house and i'm hoping that I can help you avoid that situation.
So, here are my recommendations:
I'd firstly recommend using our Anti-Redness Moisturiser morning and night to help the overall condition of your skin and reinforce its natural sensitive barriers. When it comes to covering up the thread veins themselves, a light application of our Mineral Matte Foundation over the affected areas will do a great job at not only disguising their appearance, but blanketing your face in natural coverage, which will subtly hide the appearance of redness.
After you've done this, if you have any larger and more defined thread veins visible - a dab of concealer over them using a Blending Brush will disguise these very nicely too. As with the foundation, a couple of practices at home will make perfect and you'll soon be feeling much more confident in quickly applying your products and pulling them off naturally.
To finish, a dusting of Mineral Anti-Shine Powder can be applied to your t-zone to further minimise the appearance of shine all day long. Using such a powder will also refine your pores and further enhance the evenness of your skin tone. Our Mineral Anti-Shine also locks in your products all day, meaning you get a lot more wear out of them and they won't go slipping off your face after eight hours.
I'm really hopeful that my recommendations can help and I've also include my suggestions below, which would be perfect for you in the colour N4
Regards, Lucy
